How to use it

Formula

Converted amount = amount × exchange rate

Rate (A → B) = 1 ÷ rate (B → A)

Worked example

Converting 100 USD to EUR at a sample rate of 0.90:

100 × 0.90 = 90 EUR

Going back: 90 × (1 ÷ 0.90) = 100 USD

Assumptions and limitations

  • Uses daily mid-market reference rates; banks, cards and exchange booths usually add a margin or fees.
  • Rates update once a day, so they won’t match live trading prices to the minute.
